Stand up and look at yourself. You have a head, two hands, two legs, and so many other parts! Your body helps you run, play, eat, read, and do everything.
Your body also has five special helpers called sense organs. They help you see, hear, smell, taste, and feel the world around you.
Let us learn about our wonderful body and how to take care of it!
The parts of the body that we can see from outside are called external parts.
Think about it: How many things can you do with your hands? Writing, eating, clapping, waving -- your hands are very busy!
We have five sense organs. Each one helps us understand the world in a different way.
| Sense Organ | Sense | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Eyes | Sight | Help us see colours, shapes, people, and things |
| Ears | Hearing | Help us hear sounds, music, and voices |
| Nose | Smell | Helps us smell flowers, food, and smoke |
| Tongue | Taste | Helps us taste sweet, sour, salty, and bitter things |
| Skin | Touch | Helps us feel hot, cold, soft, hard, rough, and smooth |
Close your eyes and touch a ball. Can you tell if it is smooth or rough? That is your skin (sense of touch) at work!
Hygiene means keeping our body and surroundings clean. Good hygiene keeps us healthy and free from germs.
