Around the world, there are some buildings and structures so beautiful, so grand, and so amazing that people call them Wonders of the World. In the year 2007, over 100 million people from around the world voted to choose the New Seven Wonders of the World. And guess what? Our very own Taj Mahal in Agra, India, is one of them! These wonders show us how creative and skilled humans can be — building incredible things that last for hundreds or even thousands of years.
These seven amazing structures were chosen by a worldwide vote. Let us learn about each one:
Long before the new list was made, ancient Greeks created a list of seven amazing structures from their world. These are called the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Sadly, only one still exists today!
