Look at this sentence: "ravi lives in delhi." Something is wrong! The names Ravi and Delhi should start with big letters. And the sentence should end with a dot. The correct sentence is: "Ravi lives in Delhi." The big letters are called capital letters and the dot at the end is called a full stop.

When Do We Use Capital Letters?

We use a capital letter in these important places:

The Full Stop (.)

A full stop is a small dot (.) that we put at the end of a sentence. It tells the reader that the sentence has ended.

Example: "Meena goes to school." — The full stop is at the end.

Example: "I like to play cricket." — The full stop is at the end.

Remember: Every sentence must start with a capital letter and end with a full stop!
