Reading comprehension means reading a short story or passage and understanding what it says. We read carefully, think about the words, and then answer questions. The answers are usually found in the passage itself. Let us read some fun passages and answer questions!
Ravi is seven years old. He studies in Class 2 at Sunrise Public School. His favourite teacher is Sharma Ma'am. She teaches English and tells funny stories. Ravi likes to sit in the first row. He carries a red water bottle and a green lunch box. After school, his father picks him up on a bicycle.
Meena has a small garden behind her house. She waters the plants every morning. There are red roses, yellow sunflowers, and white jasmine in her garden. Many butterflies come to sit on the flowers. Meena's grandmother helps her pull out the weeds. Meena loves her garden because it smells so nice. She wants to grow tomatoes next month.
There is a big mango tree in Anita's village. It is very old and very tall. In summer, the tree is full of sweet mangoes. All the children love to eat the mangoes. They also play under the tree because it gives cool shade. Birds make their nests on the branches. Anita's grandfather planted this tree many years ago.
Arjun has a pet dog named Moti. Moti is brown and white with a fluffy tail. He loves to run in the park every evening. Moti can shake hands and roll over. Arjun gives him milk and biscuits. On Sundays, Arjun gives Moti a bath with warm water. Moti barks happily when Arjun comes home from school.
It was raining heavily one afternoon. Priya and her brother Rohan looked out of the window. The sky was dark grey. Big puddles formed on the road. After the rain stopped, they ran outside to play.
